"I can't use PayPal", a new client said. "Is there another way I can pay you?"
In the past I would have said 'YES!' and then bent over backwards to figure out a way short of driving to their house to do a cash-hand off.
Not anymore.
We did, and he is able to use PayPal just fine (turns out it was something at PayPal that needed adjusting).
Yes, PayPal takes a cut out of every transaction I receive. Yes, I may lose a client who can't or won't use PayPal. But over the last decade I have realized:
The delegation power of PayPal is worth it for me and for my business.
I don't have to think about payments. I don't have to go to the PO Box to get checks or go to the bank to cash them or even fiddle with my iPhone to deposit them remotely.
I don't have to have a list of "accounts receivable" keeping track of who has paid and who has not. And I never, ever have to write an email asking for payment, or having to decide what to do if that client calls or emails and asks for an extension or a grace period.
Wow. That feels great.
I just get to do what I love which is work with clients, write for clients and fiddle with my websites. Yay! :)
Spending Money To Allow Money
Also this week Holly, a friend and member of the GWI Community, started offering once more her fabulous phone appointment setting for lightworkers.
Will I use her services? Heck, yes!
In the past I would have fretted about the percentage of income I was "giving away" from each phone session to have Holly book them for me.
Today I think:
"Oh wow, that's a relief - imagine how amazing it will be when I don't have to return phone calls and emails to schedule clients while I'm with the kids during the day or at night when it may be too late to get back to them. Imagine how much I will LOVE manifesting more phone clients when all I have to do is the part I adore: sitting down to down to talk with pre-paid, pre-qualified clients who are ready and eager to have a phone session with me."
That feels so good I KNOW clients will come. I'm aligned. I'm in joy and I'm EXCITED to work with them because I get to do what I love and only what I love. That's the power of delegation!
"But I Need The Money!
Maybe you are crunched for cash. You really, really can't afford to pay someone to set your appointments or run your payments for you.
That's OK. Don't fight where you are, make peace with it. "I'll look back on this time fondly!" you can say while you start imaging how great it will feel when you can and do delegate tasks you don't prefer.
Make a List
If you are doing things you don't enjoy, it shows. It shows in your clients or lack-of-clients. It shows in your stress and in your career growth.
It's possible that a career won't grow simply because you'll have to do more of that work you hate so your subconscious thinks, 'why bother growing it'?
If money were no object, what would you love to offload?
- Managing your website?
- Doing your taxes?
- Scheduling your clients?
- Writing your newsletter?
The best part is: the task you don't like may be the dream career for someone else. Take Holly for example, who manifested her career doing back-office support for lightworkers, why? Because she LOVES IT!
How wonderful that delegating to the right people creates a joyous win all around, the relief to focus on doing what you love, and more prosperity to boot that you can use to CHANGE THE WORLD.
Here's to you doing what you love and only what you love!
